A long history of growth and development
Founded in 1833 with the opening of the first banking institution, the Ticino financial centre has grown and developed to become an established international financial centre, the third largest in Switzerland. Switzerland's conditions of economic, monetary, and political stability have enabled it to become over the years a key international centre for private banking. Over time, the processes of the globalization of services and integration of expertise that have characterized the evolution of financial markets have led to the development of specializations in the fields of asset management, business credit, corporate and tax advisory services, and wealth management.
Relationships as a cultural heritage
Presently, the Ticino financial centre generates more than 15% of the Canton's GDP and it is estimated that it has a total of several hundred billion francs of assets under management. In addition to the banking institutions, there is a constellation of operators ranging from major players of European prominence to small concerns focused on meeting the requirements of innovative niches. Within the common matrix of private banking the operators supported in Ticino receive, along with a client-oriented approach, a wealth of expertise and attention to quality that enables them to excel in increasingly global and competitive markets.
